Ethnic Adventures!

Mysore Woodlands. What does that sound like to you? Do you think you'd like to eat dinner there? If you did, you'd be glad, because it is an incredible Indian restaurant Ian and I went to last night on what's got to be one of the most fascinating stretches of pavement in all of Chicago. Taking a left onto Devon from Western, the surroundings seemed normal - hot dog place, Neon car lot etc. But then one block in - and whoa! We're totally in India! We parked the car and started walking, restaurant after amazing restaurant on both sides of the street - our bellies rumbling in pakoranticipation. By the time we reached Mysore Woodlands (Zagat recommended!) our nosehairs tickled by the aroma of cardamom and cumin - we had thrown all sense of reason out the window. We ordered up a Raj's feast, of which we ate about 1/8. Currently the fridge is overflowing with Korma, Chana Masala & probably 5 samosas. No matter. On the way back to the car, we popped into I.S.P. (India Sari Palace) and fondled reams of Indian silk. Overall, not bad for a Friday night.
